Empowering Next Gen leaders

A Nature Positive future starts with a positive relationship with Nature.

For young people growing up today, that’s not easy. Whether it’s feelings of climate anxiety, a fear of social settings and the outdoors, or unhealthy tech habits, there’s many barriers. ‘Hello ELLe’ is an innovative app by Regeneration Projects that combines EdTech and Nature. It’s about empowering the Next Generation to unlock their leadership potential, and creating the supportive conditions for young people and educators to transform #EcoAnxiety2Action.

After 4 years of R+D, the goal is for Hello ELLe to become a nationally-recognised ecological literacy and leadership program. Imagine it being like the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program, but with tech as a gateway to Nature!

Backed by Research

In April 2024, long-term collaborators Matt Sykes and Shruthi Vijayakumar teamed up to publish an article on Ecological Leadership mindset with the World Economic Forum – Read Now.

Old knowledge, new EdTech

During the Climate Strikes of 2019, Matt Sykes knew something wasn’t right. So, during COVID-19 Lockdown, he started Regeneration Projects at his kitchen table. What started as an independent consultancy internationally recognised for its social and environmental values, as a certified B Corp and Actor in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, is now transforming into a leading EdTech startup!

From walking Indigenous songlines in the Kimberley and listening to First Nations Elders share stories around fire circles in Arnhem Land, to planting wildlife corridors on Gippsland farms, managing iconic walking experiences in Tasmania, advocating for frontline workers at COP15 and actors in the swimmable cities movement, Matt has worked with ecological pioneers for over 17 years.

But the signs show that something is still missing … the youth mental health crisis, the gap between climate policy and action, intergenerational communication. So, Matt is focusing our time and energy in translating ecological knowledge he has been g for the digital generation using EdTech.
